Congratulations to Steve Kaiblinger
TAP's Player of the Month For September, 2009
One of TAP’s newest players certainly deserves to receive TAP's Player of the Month for September, 20009 and honorable mention for sportsmanship. Here is his story…
After playing with TAP for just a few weeks, Steve went on a much needed family vacation to San Diego. While boogie boarding, the wave that was carrying him across the ocean suddenly gave out from under him and he did a face-plant directly in the sand and was knocked unconscious. A Good Samaritan dove under the waves and pulled him to safety, but Steve ended up in the San Diego hospital for 3-4 days with his neck in a brace and several cuts and bruises on his face.
After arriving home, Steve’s friend (& pool buddy) drove him to league night even though he was still in pain (and in his neck brace), because he wanted to support his team and help with scoring since he wasn’t able to play.
Steve will be having surgery next week because of this accident, but he fully intends to be back at the table as soon as he can.
Thank you, Steve, for your dedication to your team – it is greatly appreciated! We wish you the best outcome for your upcoming surgery.

Rick Thompson
Player of the Month for April 2009
Under normal circumstances, the Player of the Month is a nomination by other league players; however, this time this nomination is coming from Peggy from the league office.
I am personally recognizing Rick Thompson for his attention to detail and dedication to get his new team, playing out of Cactus Jack’s on Tuesday’s, ready for the start of the spring session. Rick took the responsibility of captain seriously and I’ve never seen anyone so organized.
First of all, he made sure that I met with the new bar owner, Frank Beckmann, so I could explain the responsibilities the bar has to accommodate a TAP team. Then he recruited all of his players and had all applications filled out, and money collected and delivered to me in advance so I could build his roster. Then, he had a meeting with his team to go over the rules and scoring prior to the first week! Wow! I love the way he took over and made this all happen within a 10-day timeframe!
Rick, captain’s like you make my job much easier and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you’ve done and continue to do each week. Teams who have strong captains are the most successful in the league. Keep up the good work!
